Affinity Farm hopes to provide your kids with a positive experience around horses. Beginner riders are introduced to horses and taught basic horsemanship and horseback riding skills in a safe and friendly environment. Basic horsemanship skills are horse safety, leading, grooming, tacking, and general horse care. The Riding portion of camp covers mounting, proper seated position, how to hold reins, walking, halting, steering, and perhaps trotting, depending on progress during the week. Campers will also participate in a variety of un-mounted activities such as learning basic horse anatomy, learning saddle and tack parts, tacking and untacking horses, tack maintenance, horse grooming and washing, and daily barn maintenance.
